Winter Storm

Winter Storm is a short, dramatic film about a father, his young boy and their ill-fated hunting trip. This film evokes emotions that are meant to engage viewers from all walks of life. Attempting to capture a classical cinematic tone with strongly composed imagery, the story unfolds without raising any suspicions about its outcome.

Winter Storm opens on the exterior of a mountain cabin. The switch of a light takes us inside from the dark night, where the father tries to wake up his young son, Josh. We continue in the kitchen as he carefully prepares for their trip. He’s in a hurry, so he whisks his son out of bed and puts him in the already running car. He runs back for his jacket and they are on their way before the crack of dawn.

During the car ride it becomes apparent that they are going to hunt something that the father, an avid bow hunter, has been waiting to share with his son. However, the boy falls asleep before they arrive. His father decides to explore on his own at which point the elements of nature show their true power... and the winter storm slowly looms.

The hunter’s initial excitement turns into one of panic and despair. By the time he realizes that not even the utmost care, experience and proper preparations can prevent his mistake, his life is changed forever.
